Clément de Pémille Secondary School for Vocational Training is launching a plan of internship mobility as means to open up to different cultures and tend towards professional excellence in the fields of jewellery, mechanics, sales representation and commerce. Since 2013 higher education training is also available with the "Art and Craft Higher National Diploma : Object/materials: Contemporary Jewellery: craftmanship /digital intermingling" a speciality destined to open up internationally. Our objective is to encourage any mobility actions which could enable to develop professional and linguistic skills, since multiculturalism is a major asset as far as contemporary art and new technologies are concerned. At the school level, we will promote exchanges of students and staff as well as credit mobility in Europe.

Strategical objectives
  1. For the students, the first objective is international openness.  It results from the orientation of the training towards contemporary art and new technologies and also the international experience of the teachers. It’s the reason why in a first phase internship mobility will be encouraged. The Erasmus programme will be an important support to help us develop mobility regarding the 8-week internship at the end of the 2nd year.

  2. The second objective will be to discover different educational methods during the school curriculum. The students will have the opportunity to take part in mobility thanks to the network previously established. The aim is to favour exchanges between students in order to make the pursuit of studies abroad easier but also to enable cooperation in developing European citizenship. Welcoming incoming mobility students is of course encouraged from now on.

  3. Cultural enrichment and improvement of foreign language knowledge are key elements.

  4. International openness will be carried out according to the respect of our differences whether cultural linguistic, or traditional. This enrichment will enable Clément de Pémille Secondary School to be the school of all successes: educational, social or of integration. It will enable to enhance professional training and give a good image of the students coming from rural disadvantaged areas.
Operational objectives
  1. Urging internship mobility in European companies (involving school administration and educational teams). The international relations office assisted by the assistant director of vocational training, guides the placement of students in companies corresponding to their expectations, their level within the frame of the skills base and body of knowledge. It will organise internships abroad.
  2. Insuring a permanent support during the outgoing, welcoming or settling of mobile students or staff in order to encourage mobility and develop international solidarity.
  3. Promoting staff mobility: international openness, speaking a foreign language and both cultural and professional enrichment are the goals we pursue. Moreover exchanges enable close contacts to be established with our partners to form a trainers’ network, which guarantees mobility to run smoothly.

Partners

The partners of our school are selected by the Office for Internation Relations. Thanks to the searches done by our teachers, we establish a network of partners with schools, high schools, training centers and companiessituated in the different European countries. The implication of the teaching and administrative staff in the Erasmus mobility programmes constitute an added value for our school thanks to the exchange of knowledge and skills in order to develop innovative professional practises. The teachers that will participate to the mobility will be selected by the Office for International Relations on a voluntary basis. Regarding the mobility of studies, the priority is to standardise our respective offers in order to facilitate the adaptation and to allow a fast deepening of the linguistic and professional skills. English is the communication language.

Strategies of modernisation of higher education

The 5 priorities of the strategy of modernisation of higher education will be highlighted by the Lycée Clément de Pémille during the 2014/2020 programme as follows.

  1. Increasing attainment levels to provide the graduates and researchers Europe needs by the growth of the motivation of our students who consider this experience as an opportunity in their training and as a way to promote their employability and their feeling of belonging to Europe. All these measures are implemented in order to make it accessible to economically disadvantaged youth. Helping French and foreign students with career guidance as well as the research of personalized financial supports are a priority. The opportunity to share knowledge and skills between European countries can only increase the qualification and the transferability of our students and future professionals.

  2. Improving the quality and relevance of higher education by developing exchanges which are sources of mutual enrichment of our educational practices and by creating other partnerships sources of expertise for our trainers.

  3. Strengthening quality through mobility and cross-border cooperation by associating work places to the curriculum provided in our different training courses. The work placements allow the essential integration of the students training in a society which is in constant evolution, especially when it comes to new technologies. The qualitative dimension of our different training courses is thus strengthened.

  4. Linking higher education, research and business for excellence and regional development by enabling the work places of our region to benefit from the skills acquired by our students during course and internship mobilities and reciprocally for our partners.

  5. Improving governance and funding by the managing of the school headmasters who ensure the riguour of public accounting while respecting the educational goals of the different projects with the help of the office for international relations expertise. International openness is the result of a reflection shared by the whole staff as well as the members of the board of directors. The constant dialogue allows an evolution in projects in order to improve their quality in relation to the different financing sources. These types of regulations are essential to the development of a durable and cohenrent policy of international openness.

For our school, the Erasmus+ charter is a medium for the development of the actions mentionned before, as well as a frame allowing us to be part of a European training space. It is also for us a way to encourage the local companies to work with us in the school/work places interactions in a European dimension . Finally, it is a way to motivate our students to be part of a European mobility programme, to broaden their knowledge of other cultures and acquire the behaviour of a European citizen.
