In Antwerp with Juliette - 4th and final week
Hi! My internship is now over. I’m really pleased of this month. I feel like I learnt a lot. On Monday I made again the setting of my ring which broke last Friday. First, I tried to set an other stone on an other ring. It worked well so I set my stone and it also worked well!! On Tuesday I finished the hair-jewel I started on the second week in the DIVA museum. On it, there is a little piece in bronze which can move (I cast it in sand on the second week). I also made some reticulation on a silver plate for a future medal where there will be an engraving on one face and the reticulation on the other. On Wednesday we went to Brussels again, but this time we came for the all day so in the morning I visited the Museum of Art and History... it was amazing! I spend 3 hours there. I loved it!! Then in the afternoon I started to work on a prong setting for a marquise stone, a garnet that I had bought the second week in Antwerp. I never did that so I searched some information in books to find a way to make it. On Thursday I finished this setting so I made a ring to put the setting on it so I could then set the stone! Friday I worked with Peter’s wife, Daisy: it was great! I love her work! The last moments with Peter and Daisy were nice. I’m so gratefull for this month spent with Peter, I learnt a lot and I will keep a great memory of this experience here. I ate a last waffle on Friday afternoon after work, and saturday morning my cousin came in Antwerp to bring me to my aunt’s home. We made some home-made pizzas saturday evening and sunday in the morning the plane left Charleroi airport at 8:00 A.M. My family was waiting for me in Biarritz. I spent an amazing month and now I’m really happy to be back home.

Salut!
