Deuxième semaine de stage d'Alessianne à Anvers (Belgique)
Second week of internship with Nico Taeymans! Monday: I started the week with the project of making 8 silver rings with a bezel setting with different cabochon stones. In the afternoon, I had the opportunity to meet Nico's son, Alexandre, a stone cutter, who was kind enough to teach me how to cut cabochon stones throughout the afternoon. Nico gave me a piece of rough labradorite that I was able to cut into a drop shape. I was also given an apron with a clown pattern!! Tuesday: I continued making these different rings throughout the day and was able to move forward until the finishing touches. Wednesday, day off: I wanted to visit Antwerp Zoo since my arrival, but I kept putting it off...but not this Wednesday. So I spent the afternoon at the zoo! I wanted to hug the gorillas, but I was told that they weren't too tactile unfortunately... Thursday: The project of silver rings with cabochon stones continued and in addition, I had a ring that Nico's son entrusted to me for repair, because the ring had defects due to poor casting. Friday: I was finally able to finish the rings in addition to a few customer orders (sizing + casting refining). Saturday: I went to Brussels!! I took a train in the morning to the Brussels-Central train station. I immediately headed to the Museum of Natural Sciences, where I spent the afternoon. To end this day, I went for a visit to the European Parliament. It seemed like an obvious thing to do knowing that I am an ERASMUS+ student!! Sunday: Very nice day, I slept! Conclusion: I absolutely loved this week. I discovered many things: stone cutting, the Antwerp zoo, the city of Brussels (in which there is the largest and most beautiful collection of Iguanodon fossil bones in the world). I wasn't bored for a single second. Nico gave me a whole bunch of work one after the other on which I had the greatest pleasure working. |

Conclusion : J'ai absolument adoré cette semaine. |
